Euro zone finance ministers will give more money to Greece, while Athens is not formed government to ensure implementation of the reorganization of state finances, announced AFP, citing a senior European diplomat in Brussels.
The situation in the country will be the main topic of today’s meeting of the Eurogroup.
“While in Athens is not fully formed government, which reaffirms the international financial obligations, Greece will not receive a single cent more,” a strong position in Brussels.
Early parliamentary elections in Greece on May 6 does not broadcast a clear winner, making the formation of a new government almost impossible task. If negotiations fail, you will need to produce new elections. Political developments in Greece put its membership in the euro area in question.
European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso has hinted over the weekend about the possibility the country to be excluded from the euro area.
“The Eurozone is a club whose members live in accordance with given rules. If the rules are not respected, the club must be leaving,” said Barroso.
