iPad and iPhone have shifted business’ preferences from BlackBerry

In the business world, managers often used to rely on BlackBerry. According to a recent study, however, the  situation has changed in favor of Apple.

 

Research company iPass, has interviewed 2,300 employees from 1,100 companies worldwide, among which 32% are holders of BlackBerry. 45% of respondents admitted they use the iPhone to work. For comparison, last year BlackBerry owners were 35% and those of the iPhone is 31%.

 

Other manufacturers have suffered a decline – BlackBerry by 2,3%, Symbian by 5%, and Windows Mobile with 4.1%. The number of managers that use smartphones for business purposes increase. In 2010 their share was 34%, and in now is  42%.

 

According to the analysis 95% of all business customers have a smartphone, 44% have a  tablet. The contrast in tablet market is  even greater.

 

BlackBerry PlayBook could not conquer the many fans of mobile devices and only 6.2% of executives surveyed were interested in the product of RIM. iPad 2, however, enjoys the attention of the remaining 84.1% employees.

 

An important detail is that 49% of respondents to the iPass was from North America, while currently RIM Blackberry is in other markets.
